It's not just the smaller form factor, but the fact that you can readily disconnect the screen from the keyboard, pop down on the sofa, and go back to the desk and keyboard effortlessly. Portability: While it's true that the new MacBook Pro is thinner when compared to previous generations, the iPad Pro still beats it on portability. The academic understanding I had of them was surprising in my experience of them, where I uncovered unexpected benefits along the way. The same goes for battery life, the touch screen and the applications in the OS. Sure, I knew it was going to be portable, but I was surprised by the way it was portable. Let's start with the good stuff, and in each case, my experience has been one of surprise. It reminded me of my first love, the 11-inch MacBook Air, and with a free try-and-return-if-you-don't-like-it promotion, I decided to give it a go as my main daily machine for all my workflows. In the meantime, Apple released their M2 iPad Pro. However, the 8MB of RAM and Intel chipset soon meant that the machine was crashing at simple multitasking and often whirring so loudly like a jet engine. I moved to the newest MacBook Pro, and it was ok for a while. Do you remember that first one that slid out of a manila envelope? It was super light, and super powerful, and I only changed it after six years because the OS was no longer supported. My favourite device of all time was the MacBook Air.

I'm not an Apple fanboy, but I buy most things Apple sells and the resulting ecosystem is making every hard to buy anything else.
